Root canal
Root canal therapy is the cleaning out of the pulp of an infected tooth caused by either decay or trauma. This procedure eliminates the infection and prevents the possibility of bacteria entering the tooth in the future. Root canals may be required in situations such as:
-decay into the pulp tissue
-severely broken tooth
-hypersensitive tooth
-trauma leading to infection of the nerve
